July 3. Taking a final leave of Glacier, we head South. Ideally we would be able to snag a site at Salmon Lake SP. We stopped at two campgrounds on the way; one was full and the other was closed! And Salmon Lake was full through the weekend.
But Sharon got advice on a forest road to boondock on, and a shower (the reason we chose the campground).
We drove up the Morrell Road dirt for several miles, then met another vehicle, and the driver suggested we follow her to where she's boondocking. We did, we chocked to get level, and life was good.
After a bike ride on the road cut short by rain, we ate and then invited Roberta to join us for a glass of wine. She is a musher and living out here with her huskies.
The plan was to do more riding in the morning, but the 33° temps stopped that pretty quickly.
